Terms of Service

Last updated 27 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Clipwise. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Clipwise for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Your account

Keep your login credentials and API keys confidential. Activity under your account is your responsibility. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or an API key has been compromised, and we will help you revoke it.

3. Your content and your rights

You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything we produce from it. We claim no rights in your videos, transcripts, scripts or clips.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, transcode and transmit your content strictly to operate the service for you — including sending the necessary parts to the processors listed in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete the content.

You must have the right to use what you submit. Uploading a video, or pasting a link to one, means you own it or hold permission from the rights holder. Clipping someone else's video without permission may infringe their copyright and may also breach the source platform's terms. That is your responsibility, not ours, and we ask you to confirm it before export.

If you believe content processed here infringes your copyright, email support@use-clip-wise.com with enough detail to identify the work and we will act on valid notices.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Clipwise to:

  • process content you have no right to use;
  • create material that is unlawful, defamatory, or sexually exploitative of minors;
  • impersonate a real person or produce misleading synthetic media of them;
  • circumvent our credit accounting, rate limits or plan caps, including through automated account creation;
  • attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or resell access to it without our written agreement.

We may suspend an account that breaches this section, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.

5. Plans, credits and payment

Exports consume credits. Credits are charged on delivery — if a render fails, you are not charged for it. Purchased credits do not expire while your account is open.

The free plan is capped at a number of jobs per day so one account cannot occupy the whole queue. Paid plans lift that cap.

Crypto payments are final. A confirmed on-chain transfer cannot be reversed by us, so USDT payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Card payments are refundable at our discretion within 14 days if you have not substantially used the credits. Contact us and we will deal with you fairly.

Prices may change. A change never applies to credits you have already bought.

6. Publishing to other platforms

When you connect YouTube, TikTok or Instagram, you also remain bound by that platform's own terms. We publish only what you ask us to publish. We cannot control whether a platform accepts, restricts, demonetises or removes a post, and we are not responsible for those decisions.

You can disconnect any platform at any time, which revokes the stored token.

7. What the AI does and doesn't promise

Moment detection, transcription, translation, scripts and generated images are automated and imperfect. Transcripts contain errors, detected moments are judgements rather than facts, and translations of low-resource languages are weaker than of common ones. Review the output before you publish it.

We deliberately show reasoning and confidence instead of a hype score, and we make no promise of views, engagement, revenue or virality. Anyone who promises you that is guessing.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, upstream provider outages and rate limits imposed by third parties can all interrupt processing. The service is provided "as is", without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost audience, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unused purchased credits.

Export anything you want to keep before you close your account — deletion is permanent.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will notify you in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Clipwise is established, whose courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
